CC-Link’s OPC UA companion widening IIoT machine connectivity
Moreover
The CC-Link Organisation (CLPA), and the OPC Foundation, announced a companion specification. Thus ensuring widening IIoT machine connectivity, it simplifies IIoT and Industry 4.0 implementations.
It does this by providing a unified interface between devices and IT at production sites. This simplifies the IIoT machine connectivity required for Smart Factories, and improves productivity through analysis of production.
The companion specification is CSP+ for Machine (CSP+4M). It simplifies the process of extracting data from factory systems using OPC UA, the industry standard for open connectivity. CSP+4M uses XML to provide a variety of information related to the machine. As an example, machine specifications, application software, defines data acquisition, as well as the relationship between machine data and information.
It provides drag and drop network configuration using CSP+ files from CLPA partner vendors, allowing the creation of convenient device libraries. As a result, it takes the technology one step further by treating whole machines in the same way. It means handling complex systems as if they are a single device.

Widening IIoT machine connectivity
Most manufacturing sites operate a variety of process equipment based on different technologies. Importantly, CSP+4M supports widening IIoT machine connectivity and increases transparency. Hence it offers a flexible solutions for the real-time communication of essential process information.
The companion specification provides a compelling solution for end-users and machine builders worldwide. Moreover, it does this by giving them continued access to a wide range of equipment from suppliers of their choice.
CC-Link is a technology leader for Industry 4.0 applications with its unique CC-Link IE open gigabit Ethernet. Furthermore, its CC-Link IE Field Basic, extends compatibility to 100Mbit Ethernet devices.
Finally, CSP+4M companion for OPC UA builds on previous cooperation with PROFIBUS & PROFINET International (PI) to provide interoperability with PROFINET.
