The safety function of Mitsubishi’s FR-D700-EC inverter drives has been upgraded and the product given a new model name.  Now called FR-D700SC-EC, the main change is the safety circuit logic will be source instead of sink.  This means it can be used in the same safety chain as FR-E700SC-EC, and connects directly to Mitsubishi’s safety PLCs instead of using safety relays.

According to Mitsubishi Electric, the new product will be in stock from April 2012. The old model will continue to be available for some while to support existing projects
