So what is next generation MachineStruxure?
Schneider Electric’s MachineStruxure is an integrated approach to machine and plant automation. It is an intuitive way of bringing together device hardware, software, communications and services to deliver scalable automation solutions.
MachineStruxure is core to Schneider’s automation philosophy and also influences the design and the development of existing and future products to deliver competitive advantage to OEMS and end users. It enables users to easily utilise the full functionality of Schneider Electric’s automation product range.
Improve efficiency with flexible and scalable performance
MachineStruxure offers cost-effective automation where every HMI, drive, logic and motion controller is optimised to deliver flexible and scalable performance. As applications change, it offers an upgrade path to higher performance platforms through reuse of software.
The Hardware
Flexible & Scalable Machine Control is the technological core of MachineStruxure. The drive, HMI, logic, and motion controllers are suitable for a wide range of machines. They also provide specific functions for Packaging and Material Handling, Material Working, Hoisting, HVAC & Refrigeration, and Pumping applications.
Additionally, requirements to meet common safety standards IEC 61508 and EN/ISO13849 are met with hardwired safety controllers and embedded safety network solutions. Machine control is achieved faster using intuitive SoMachine programming software to simplify design installation.
SoMachine programming software
SoMachine is a machine builders’ solution software for developing, configuring and commissioning the entire machine in a single software environment, including logic, motion control, HMI, and related network automation functions.
SoMachine reduces machine development time by using standardised, modular programming, automatic code generation in the background and proven, documented off-the-shelf application libraries.
A wide range of machine concepts can be mapped using ready to use tested, validated and documented architectures (TVDAs). TVDAs include system user guides, CAD files, and references to available software Application Function Blocks (AFBs).
Remote access communications
MachineStruxure offers unlimited local and access to machines is through embedded Ethernet, wireless access, and web servers to provide availability of production and status information. They also provide OEMs the opportunity to offer additional services such as remote control and diagnostic
