Altivar ATV 61 offers fast energy saving returns

Using Altivar ATV 61 inverter drives for saving energy on fan and pump motors offers some of the fastest returns in terms of payback time.  In most cases fans and pumps do not need to run at full speed.  They can be controlled manually or electronically to run at the right speed required by the application at any point in time.

Cube Law

Energy savings for fan and pump applications are easy to estimate as they follow the ‘cube law’.  This means that reducing a motor to run at 90% will save 27% of the running cost; reducing to 80% will reduce to 48% of the running cost and reducing to 60% will save a staggering 80% of the running cost.  These provide payback times between nine and twenty four months.

Schneider Electric (Telemechanique) developed the ATV 61 to meet the varied demand for an energy saving fan and pump drive covering a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.  In addition to saving energy the application of the ATV 61 for fans and pumps allows a de-rating of the duty cycle which offers savings in the initial product cost.

The Altivar 61 is suitable for both OEM and end-users applications such as building services.  It is suitable for integration into all major building services and factory automation networks, offering both exceptional performance and advanced functionality such as high torque.
