Mitsubishi Electric to launch  MelEnergy to help UK business with ESOS Compliance.

To be launched early in 2015, MelEnergy will provide the energy management software platform and technical expertise to develop the best energy saving options for clients. Both Mitsubishi Electric and RUMM believe that there are great benefits to be realised from a positive approach to engaging in energy reduction strategies.

Mitsubishi Electric UK has been working with RUMM to develop long term energy management solutions for business that will also address the requirements of ESOS legislation.  The resulting brand MelEnergy will be launched early in 2015.  A good number of companies have already sought advice and support as they prepare to address ESOS.

RUMM is a specialist energy management company operating in partnership with its customers mainly in the manufacturing and utility sectors to make significant savings in energy, cost and carbon. They bring high level resource to large businesses to deliver energy savings. It is a spinout from the University of Glamorgan and affiliated to the University of South Wales.

RUMM was conceived in 2001 to develop a software system to populated student attendance to a remote database. The solution obviated the need for an extensive hardwiring infrastructure.

It was well known that there was a shortage of energy management expertise available to industry and that energy costs were rising sharply and energy related legislation had began to grow considerably. RUMM recognised that the same remote database could be  extended into the energy sector.

This was followed by four years research in developing the technology / methodology and successfully trialling it in various sectors. After this market investigation it was clear that there was a place for professional service providers utilising remote technology in the energy management sector.

The RUMM technology is being continually developed for energy management and energy managers by energy managers. Their energy managers provide the input into the development based upon what they need to provide the best service for our customers.
