The CC-Link IE Field open network is the first Industrial Ethernet network to operate at gigabit speeds at the field device level. It combines the best of existing technologies and applies them in a highly reliable architecture that provides exceptional data bandwidth.

An Ethernet adapter enables connection to 100 Mb Ethernet devices that employ TCP/IP communications.

CC-Link IE Field allows for a topology best suited to the needs of the application thus ensuring greatest flexibility. These include star, line, mixed star and line and ring.  With the sub-master function, network operation can continue even if the master station stops. This is configured simply by using a master and sub-master on the same network. Hence network operation is uninterrupted even in the case of a controller failure.

Simple implementation and fault finding

The new graphical configuration tool embedded in the iQ works software suite allows the network to be quickly configured by simply dragging and dropping the desired network modules from the available library into the network overview diagram.

Expanded diagnostics available from each network module gives a full description what’s happening on that module, this information includes any faults. This can save time during commissioning or an unplanned stoppage by informing the engineer what is needed to solve the issues with a single visit.
