UK automation and energy management specialist Schneider Electric is enhancing its Green Plant service and repair facility in the West Midlands to offer fixed price repairs for Altivar Variable Speed Drive (VSD).

As the only approved Schneider Electric UK drives repair facility and offers a three service levels of fixed price drive repair service, being: standard; express, and ‘no fault found’ services.  Expert staff offer a fast and efficient repair service for ATV 61 and 71 drives rated between 11kW and 90kW, which is available from authorised distributors such as 999 Inverters Ltd or direct from Schneider Electric.

There are no exclusions for this offer and the prices are fixed regardless of the condition of the failed drive. The benefit of the fixed price repair service is that costs are known before a unit is returned. It avoids delay due to inspection and quotations, and enables users to make faster decisions on repairing or replacing.

The standard turnaround time is up to 10 working days. An express service is offered for emergency repairs and return of the drives is guaranteed within 3 working days provided the product is received by before 12 noon. Drives are either repaired or exchanged with a service replacement item. There is also a ‘no fault found’ service when a drive undergoes all tests and inspections but no fault is found. In this case, the drive will be serviced and the fans changed (if applicable).

For critical applications, a replacement drive loan service is available on request, while the original drive is being repaired (subject to availability). This loan service can also be used for application trials, which can enable customers to review cost savings that can be achieved by switching to an energy efficient VSD.

The repaired units come with a 2 year warranty, providing customers with peace of mind that the unit is covered against further breakdown. Reports about the drive failure are available on request but may incur further charges.
