Schneider Altivar ATV 71 with IMC integrated hoist controller card
Altivar ATV 71 is a Schneider Electric high performance inverter drive suited to constant torque applications up to 630kW. By adding an ATV-IMC Integrated Controller Card type S with its PLC functionality the inverter integrates seamlessly into different hoisting applications.
The ATV-IMC type S card accesses special libraries of hoisting Application Function Blocks developed specifically for the ATV 71. The drives has several other features to simplify its adaption for hoisting applications.
HSC high-speed counting and/or incremental encoder function
The embedded counters and onboard master CANopen link make it quick and easy to create low-cost, high-performance multi-axis machines. Programming uses PLCopen function blocks speci?c to the motion control functions in the Schneider SoMachine software.
Altivar IMC has 2 embedded high-speed counters with a counting frequency of 100 kHz for each channel as well as 4 re?ex outputs.
Position control function
Several position control options are available either creating a sequence in Lexium 32 servo drives or creating an application in the Altivar IMC card type S solutions and controlling the Lexium servo drives via the master CANopen link.
Communication functions
Ethernet
The Altivar IMC drive controller card type S has a built-in RJ45 Ethernet port with Ethernet TCP Modbus, SoMachine on Ethernet, UDP, TCP and SNMP protocols. It also includes an embedded Web Server and FTP Server.
CANopen
The Altivar IMC drive controller card type S has an embedded CANopen master which can be used to control devices on a communication bus with ease. The link can be con?gured between 20 kbps and 1 Mbps and supports up to 16 slaves.
Architectures based on CANopen can be used to distribute I/O modules as close to the sensors and actuators as possible, thus reducing wiring costs and times, and to communicate with different devices such as variable speed drives, servo
Customization function on the graphic display terminal
The remote graphic display terminal on Altivar 71 drives includes a menu dedicated to the Altivar IMC drive controller card type S solutions. The user is offered a graphic display of 8 lines of 24 characters that can be customized simply and directly using the SoMachine software.
The user can also de?ne the language, name, unit, decimal point, and the type of parameter he wishes to customize for his own application. The users can also de?ne alarms and error messages for his application.
Clock function
A time and date-stamping function combined with a clock backed up by a lithium battery makes it possible to keep a log of events that have occurred. When the Altivar IMC drive controller card type S solutions is installed in the drive, drive faults are automatically time and date stamped without the need for any special programming.
