Keeping with Omron’s philosophy of backwards compatibility, the replacement 3G3RX2 has many similarities with the obsolescent model. The mounting dimensions of 3G3RX-V1 and 3G3RX2 are the same, so there is no need for extra mounting holes.
Omron 3G3RX-V1 replaced by 3G3RX2
There are some differences between 3G3RX-V1 and 3G3RX2. Before making a replacement, users should consult Omron’s reference guide and the 3G3RX2 product user manual.
Other replacement precautions when changing to the 3G3RX2 include:
– Name, arrangement and wiring for the main circuit terminal block and the control circuit terminal block have some differences.
– There are some differences in default parameter value and parameter functions between 3G3RX-V1 and 3G3RX2.
– The PG option board and network option for 3G3RX-V1 is not suitable for use with the 3G3RX2.
– For improved operation, the 3G3RX2 uses an LCD display whereas the old 3G3RX-V1 operator panel has a 4-digit LED display.
– The default setting of the 3G3RX2 control circuit is source logic, which is different from the 3G3RX-V1. When making a replacement, ensure that the switch setting matches the circuit after wiring and before turning ON power.
– Although the default setting of the 3G3RX-V1 built-in EMC filter is disabled, in the 3G3RX2, enabled is the default setting. When using an external EMC filter or for applications not needing the filter, change the wiring to disable the 3G3RX2 EMC filter.
