ATV320 drive extends Schneider’s Altivar machine range
The Schneider Electric Altivar 320 is the latest drive to extend the new Altivar Machine range, and suits simple and complex machine applications from 0.18 kW to 15 kW. The Altivar 320 variable speed drives are available in both compact and book form factors, conform to modular design standards that allow for easy selection, fast plug-and-play commissioning, and reduced installation time.
Continuous machine performance
It is designed to provide continuous machine operation in harsh environments with high levels of ambient temperature, dust, electrical interruptions, or mechanical disturbances and help to maximise machine operating time, as production changes, maintenance, safety diagnostics, network configuration, and system integration can all to be accomplished quickly. The drive maintains a thermal state allowing uninterrupted operation with ambient temperatures up to 60°C.
In addition to being PLCopen-compliant, the range is compatible with the tested, validated, and documented architectures (TVDAs) provided by Schneider Electric’s MachineStruxure solutions to reduce design and engineering time. Typical applications ATV320 was designed to meet include material handling systems, packaging, automatic conveyors, textile, hoisting, and robotics.
The drives offer open-loop motor control with torque sensitive operation, even at low speed and dynamic accuracy for start/stop applications. Closed loop motor control is also possible, for applications requiring velocity sensitive operation or precise positioning and the range offers advanced connectivity with automation architecture via all common fieldbuses, even in real-time, with fast task cycle times.
Ethernet connectivity
Advanced connectivity is provided for many networks that are based on Ethernet (Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, EtherCAT) or serial (Modbus RTU, CANopen, Profibus DP, DeviceNet).
Embedded safety
Comprehensive embedded safety solutions for simple application requirements, from Safe Torque Off to full monitoring functionalities, to comply with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and simplify certification.
A higher performance model – the Altivar 340 will be compatible with machines up to 75 kW, and is scheduled to be launched later in 2106.
