Based on established RX and MX2 inverter drive hardware, Omron’s winder application software includes dedicated winder functions such as diameter calculation without sensor, winder/unwinder bidirectional modes and tension control by either torque or PID.
Built-in winder functionality
The built-in programming functionality also offers a set of software libraries for winder and unwinder applications found in a variety of industries including: Printing; Packaging; Paper; Wire drawing, and Labelling industry
Winding is carried out through monitoring and controlling the position of a dancer roll, and adaptive motor control. As the dancer position fluctuates, the speed and torque of the motor are adjusted so that the material is wound/unwound cleanly and without breaking.
The RX inverter offers four times faster torque control loop. In addition to this torque control loop improvement, the solution includes dedicated application functions such as diameter calculation without sensor, winder/unwinder bidirectional modes and tension control by either torque or PID.
Application software libraries
Omron’s built-in programming functionality also offers a set of software libraries for a wider range of applications. In addition to PID and torque control for winders, it includes: Tower; Luffing; Grab and Gantry applications for cranes. Additionally, customers may also develop their own application software with the CX-Drive Programming open tool.
The CX-Drive Programming tool includes the standard CX-Drive software, and features flow chart and text editor programming languages. Five tasks with up to 0ne thousand lines of programming can be running simultaneously. There is also full access to parameters and inverter functions, and to an LCD real time clock.
