MAPS slashes SCADA engineering time up to 50%.

The integration of Mitsubishi Adroit Process Suite (MAPS) enables Eplan Electric P8 users to generate a MAPS project directly from Eplan Electric P8 circuit diagrams, and offers reductions of up to 50% in engineering time.

Available  from Mitsubishi Electric UK, MAPS is a life-cycle software solution enabling users to create projects in order to generate control codes, SCADA templates, tags and documents for parts of a system such as valves, pumps and conveyor belts, for example.

Direct integration

Directly integrating Eplan Electric P8 data simplifies the creation of MAPS projects, and adds growth along the entire value chain, starting with the electrical design process. Integration enables system components to be connected and commissioned in accordance with documentation, without having to write code for the control system, design a single faceplate or generate a tag in the process. System components can be controlled and operated immediately, enabling development costs to be reduced by up to 50 per cent and commissioning to be carried out much earlier.

Changes within the MAPS project are reflected in the MAPS database. If necessary, control codes, graphical displays in the SCADA project, tags and documentation can be updated automatically, ensuring consistency between documentation and the actual state of the system throughout its life-cycle. This simplifies troubleshooting and makes maintenance easier. Improved system availability is guaranteed, since scheduled and unscheduled down-times can be kept to a minimum.

EPLAN Electric P8: CAD software for electrical design

Eplan Electric P8 from e-F@ctory Alliance partner Eplan Software & Service is a CAD software for electrical engineering design software program offering project planning, documentation, and management of automation projects.

The automatic production of detailed reports based on wiring diagrams is an integral part of a comprehensive documentation system and provides subsequent phases of the project, such as production, assembly, commissioning and service with the data required. Engineering data from other project areas such as fluid and pneumatic engineering can also be exchanged, to provide consistency and integration throughout an entire product development process.
