Mitsubishi FR-E700 compact high performance inverter drive
Mitsubishi FR-E700 compact high performance inverter drive
The FR-E700 is a compact high performance inverter drive for applications up to 15 kW from Mitsubishi Electric UK. Mitsubishi Electric is one of the World’s leading manufacturers of variable speed inverter drives. They have produced over 15 million inverters for applications up to 500V and power ratings from 0.1kW to 630kW.
Different motor applications require different drive characteristics and Mitsubishi Electric UK sells several ranges to suit, including vector control, fixed torque, variable torque, fan & pump, and HVAC. They are:
– FR-D700 micro drive for 0.1 to 7.5kW simple applications and single phase
– FR-E700 series for 0.1 to 15kW single and three phase high performance applications
– FR-F740 series for 0.75 to 630kW Energy saving drive optimised for pump and fan & HVAC
– FR-A800 series for 0.75 to 630kW high-performance inverter with advanced power control for fixed torque applications.
The FR-E700 SC is a capable, economical drive for a wide range of applications from textiles machines to door and gate drive systems, and material handling. It offers accurate torque and speed control even at low speeds, improving machine protection and preventing damage to the machines.
Local or remote control
Local control is from an integrated one-touch Digital Dial control with a display. This gives the user direct access to all important parameters more quickly than with normal keys. In addition to entering and displaying parameter values, the integrated LED display is also used to monitor and check operating values and alarm codes. An integrated USB port enables direct connection of a PC or notebook computer for quick and easy parameter configuration, monitoring and maintenance.
Sensor less Vector Control
The speed and torque performance and the fast response of the FR-E700 SC are achieved using a Sensorless Vector Control system with motors that do not have encoder feed-back loops, thus saving additional hardware costs.
Improved torque/current limiting during start-up and deceleration ensures better protection for your machines, reliably preventing machine damage. The maximum short-term overload capacity to 200% for a full 3 seconds, which reduces wasteful downtime caused by overload alarms.
For applications like gate drives, hoists, cranes and so on often need an additional brake to cope with their suspended loads, the FR-E700 SC series accept connection to an external mechanical brake controlled by the inverter.
Controlled deceleration for brief power failures
The E-700SC responds to power failures by using regenerative energy to perform controlled deceleration of the motor to prevent uncontrolled run-down and possible damage to the machine.
For pump and fan applications the inverter can be configured to resume operation after brief power failures: the system catches the coasting motor and automatically accelerates it back up to the preset speed.
Integrated emergency stop function
The FR-E700 SC series has a two channel emergency stop for safe shutdown. This ensures safe operation in compliance with the European Machinery Directive without installation of another contactor. The FR-E700 SC thus conforms to the IS013849-1, PLd and IEC60204-1 cat. 0 standards.
Powerful software
The FR-Configurator software package comes with a number of user-friendly functions including graphical machine analysis for optimising the drive system and an automatic conversion tool that makes it easy to switch from a previous model to in inverter of the latest generation.
Available from 999 Inverters at discounted prices, the FR-E720S SC is for single-phase 200/240 V AC use from 0.1 to 2.2 kW. The FR-E740 SC are for three-phase 380/480 V AC from 0.4 to 15 kW. Input frequencies 50/60 Hz with output range 0 to 400 Hz.
