Mitsubishi announces upgrade path for discontinued AnS/QnAs PLCs

Mitsubishi Electric is committed to environment-compliance, such as use of lead-free components and compliance with RoHS Directives. In recent years, stricter process rules have been enacted for semiconductor parts (microcomputers, memories, ASIC, etc.), which are the main electronic components of the programmable controller. This has made it much more difficult to continuously obtain the original parts.

With the MELSEC-AnS/QnAS (Small Type) Series and MELSEC-I/OLINK, they have continued production by taking various measures such as by securing inventory of discontinued parts, etc. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain the production and quality assurance organisation and some production have been discontinued.

AnS/QnAS upgrade path

Mitsubishi Electric policy is to ensure there is always an upgrade path from any of the previous generation hardware products into the latest generation.  They  have created a brochure, that can be found on their MyMitsubishi website that covers topics such as:

– Which new CPU?
– Latest GX Works 2 software offer
– Software compatibility
– Network compatibility

– Peace of mind for your Asset life cycle
– Migration by Design
