Easy connection of Mitsubishi FR-A800 inverters to PROFI and Ethernet/IP

New FR-A800 inverter drives boost energy management

The FR-A800 frequency inverters from Mitsubishi Electric UK, are increasingly connected to building or factory automation networks. To support users of PROFIBUS, PROFINET and EtherNet IP, Mitsubishi  has provided offers two free download tools which help to easily establish the communication between the FR-A800 and these networks

Siemens examples

These quick start solution packs contains all needed information’s to establish the communication between A800 and Profinet option board A8NPRT_2P or PROFIBUS DPV1 option board A8NDPV1, as well as manual , gsd File, and Mitsubishi Function blocks or Siemens examples.

The A8NDPV1 PROFIBUS Option Board allows information to be transferred seamlessly between an FR-A800 series inverter and a PROFIBUS network with minimal configuration requirements. The interface installs directly onto the inverter’s control board, and presents a standard DSUB port for connection to the PROFIBUS network. .  The PROFINET version presents two standard 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Ethernet ports for connection to the PROFINET.

The option board is connected directly to the control board of the inverter and communicates with the inverter via a built-in communication port. Note that when the inverter’s network communication port is used by the A8NDPV1 PROFIBUS Option Board, it is unavailable for use by any other network.

Similarly, the EtherNet IP versions contain  all needed information’s to establish communication with EtherNet IP option board A8NEIP_2P, manual , PLC Code examples , EDS file, and Rockwell PLC Programming examples.

The option boards enabling communication on different industrial networks were developed and produced by HMS Industrial Networks.
