999 Inverters | ACQ810 drives for water and wastewater applications
The ACQ810 drives from ABB UK provide several built-in features to improve pumping efficiency and reliability across the water and wastewater industry. From single pump to multi-pump solutions, ABB drive features such as anti-jam/pump cleaning, level control and pump priority help reduce downtime and maintenance costs. Other built-in features like, sleep and boost, and flow monitoring allow you to tailor solutions to your unique needs of each pumping application.
MCC compatible construction
The ABB ACQ180 can be used for most variable-speed applications in the water and wastewater industry, to optimise the system and to save energy. The modules are designed for MCC assembly and are easily mounted side-by-side. Intelligent start-up assistants ensure that drive commissioning is straightforward, and the functions needed for most pumping systems can be easily implemented. The ACQ810 is available from 1.1 to 500kW.
Starting up a pumping system and optimising its performance is extremely easy. The built-in pump specific features are easy to configure. Preconfigured macros for single and multi-pump applications walk users through the drive setup. In addition the built-in pump features can be easily customised to meet unique pump system configurations.
Direct Torque Control (DTC)
The Direct Torque Control AC drive technology was developed by ABB and to replace traditional PWM drives in both open and closed-loop applications by providing precise torque control without the need for a feedback device. Built-in safe torque-off (STO) to SIL 3 within the AC810 can replace emergency stop contactors in traditional safety circuits, where power removal is not required.
User benefits
DTC provides precise torque control without the need for a feedback device to give fast torque response that reduces the speed drop time during a load transient to improve process control and a provide consistent motor output quality. Dynamic speed accuracy ensures a motor can quickly recover to a stable state after a sudden load change.
The improved torque control at low frequencies ensures smooth starting and stopping of loads that are stopped frequently such as cranes and lifts. Torque linearity is important in precision applications like winders where an accurate and consistent level of winding is critical. Winder tension control can also be achieved from zero through to maximum speed.
