Schneider Electric UK has announced that from September 2013 two high power versions of the Altivar 312 variable speed drive (11 kW and 15 kW, 3-phase, 400V) will come to the end of their commercial life. The two models will be directly substituted by equivalent Altivar 32 models of the same rating.

Altivar 32 offers a wider range of communication options, including Ethernet, Ethernet IP and EtherCAT. The ATV32 drive includes integrated ATV logic that can be used to perform simple operations without adding further devices. With safety function integrated for safe power removal and exceptional speed and torque control for asynchronous or synchronous AC motors, it is an enhanced variable speed drive available at similar prices.

Spare parts and services for the superceded models will be available September 2015. All other models in the ATV 312 range from 0.37kW to 7.5kW are unaffected and remain available to order.
