Altivar 212 improves building management control and efficiency
The move towards intelligent buildings has driven changes in inverter variable speed drives in terms of ease of use and improved building control (BMS) integration, which led Schneider Electric to introduce the Altivar 212. Due to the ATV 212’s eco-energy based design, energy savings of up to 70% can be achieved compared to a traditional control system.
Available for motors up to 75kW, the Altivar 212 is specifically intended for the most commonly encountered fluid management applications in buildings (HVAC): heating, ventilation, air conditioning, pumping and refrigeration.
Offering unmatched value in installed cost and functionality this economical drive reduces energy costs by adjusting motor speed to the required flow of air or fluids. It can also lower installation costs by eliminating throttling values, dampers or inlet guide vanes typically used to control the flow of fluids. In addition, building occupant comfort is maximized with accurate flow control.
Applications include fans, pumps, compressors, air handling units, air cooling units
Benefits to the user include centralised technical management including:
- Instant viewing of the energy consumption.
- Detection of failures for quick intervention: belt breakage, pump running dry, phase failure, supply fault, etc.
- Preventative maintenance for reducing costs and optimising the equipment: fault alert, operating time, etc.
- Tools for adjusting parameters and monitoring performance remotely.
- Connection to building supervision network using embedded protocols: Modbus, METASYS N2®, APOGEE FLN P1® and BACnet®. Optional: LonWorks
- Dedicated “Building” series functions (fire mode, register monitoring, mechanical protection function, etc.
- Integrated EMC filter, for reduced system harmonic distortion- (THDI) < 30%).
