Mitsubishi Electric releases new CANopen module FX3U-CAN
Mitsubishi Electric has introduced a new interface module for the FX3U compact PLC, providing communications over CANopen networks. The FX3U-CAN communication module is an extension module for the FX3U PLC that enables Mitsubishi’s market leading compact PLC to connect to a CANopen system. The FX3U-Can module is suitable for use with Mitsubishi’s FX3U, FX3G, FX3GC and FX3UC Series processors.
CAN communication
CAN communication networks are well known for their robustness and cost performance, as is the FX PLC family: combining both leads to new standard solutions for applications where previously special devices had to be used.
The FX3U-CAN module can be connected directly to the PLC’s extension port or to a connected extension unit. The module provides CiA 301 V4.1 and Layer 2 communication. It also supports CiA302 and CiA305 V2.2. The CANopen-Lift protocol supports direct control of lifts/elevators and devices used for their control, such as push buttons, door sensors and terminals.
