At the show Omron will be showcasing their integrated automation solutions developed to provide the packaging industry with flexible, efficient and cost-effective ways of addressing the improved productivity whilst coping with increasing competitive and regulatory pressures. Robotics

The Sysmac Machine Automation Controller has new added functionality for Delta robot control. These new additions enable the user to design and build throughput enhancing machine solutions, whilst simplifying the selection, programming and commissioning of the system.

The new Sysmac controller

Three new models are added to the range, providing a choice between 16, 32 and 64 axes of control. Control up to eight Delta robots can be accommodated in addition to other servo axes and devices associated with the project in a single programming environment.  All controllers have both EtherNet/ IP and EtherCAT ports as standard. The EtherCAT port is capable of controlling servo drives such as the Omron G5 series, in addition to Omron inverters, I/O and the new FQ-M vision sensor.

Vision inspection

Real-time manufacturing data integration into enterprise systems made easy!

Omron’s “SPU” (Storage & Processing Units) for CJ and CS platform PLC systems simplify the transfer of real-time process data into MRP, ERP, OEE, and similar, enterprise systems

Fast & secure data collection

Using the SPU-Console software tool, up to 65 data collection patterns can be configured to sample data from the PLC’s I/O at intervals from 5ms without the need for special code or programming within the PLC. Because all data is stored internally on the SPU’s removable Compact Flash (CF) memory card, the integrity of information is guaranteed, with data only being transferred ‘upstream’ when the host is ready to receive it. Even if the PLC CPU is not running, data continues to be collected and safely stored on the CF card. As all data is stored within the SPU, the need for large-capacity memory within the PLC’s CPU itself is eliminated.
