The FR-D700 is Mitsubishi Electric’s entry level variable speed inverter drive.  It is available for 220/240V single phase supply from 0.1 to 2.2kW and for 380/480V three phase from 0.4 to 7.5kW.  It is called the micro drive system by Mitsubishi for to its functionality, performance and ease of use.

The FR-D700 is a high performance compact inverter having an overload capacity of 150% for 60 second or 200% for 3 seconds.  Typical D700 applications include Machine tools, gate and door operation, conveyor control and feeders.  The drives support RS-485 and Modbus RTU communications.
The D700 safety function has recently been upgraded: the safety control logic is now source, enabling the easy integration in the same safety chain as FR-E700SC-EC, and direct connections to Mitsubishi’s safety PLCs.

Controlled deceleration during brief power failures

The frequency inverter can respond to power failures using regenerative energy to
perform controlled deceleration of the motor. This prevents uncontrolled rundown
and damage, for example, to textile machines.

Automatic restart after power failures

In pump and fan applications you can configure the inverter to resume power after
brief power failures. The system then catches the coasting motor and automatically
accelerates it back to the preset speed.

Integrated emergency stop function

The FR-D700 series has an emergency stop input for safe shutdown. This ensures safe
operation in compliance with the European Machinery Directive without installation of a
second protection mechanism. The FR-D700 thus conforms to the ISO13849-1 (EN954-1)
cat. 3 and IEC60204-1 cat. 0 standards.
