New widescreen operator interface

New wide screens HMI series from Mitsubishi GOT

Mitsubishi Electric has expanded its GOT operator interfaces with two new high-resolution LCD wide screens. The larger viewing area gives users of the GT21 and GT25 HMIs access to more visual information. They enhance machine operability and the potential to increase productivity. Further, they provide two Ethernet ports and a built-in sound output.

Mitsubishi Electric’s European Product Manager for the GOT range, André Hartkopf says. “Operators prefer like looking at things in widescreen as they are more usable,  they also provide more information, and audio alerts and spoken information help productivity.”

Benefits of widescreen operator interface

The GT21 is a 7” widescreen Graphic Operation Terminal (GOT) offering WVGA resolution. It features on-board Ethernet, CC-Link IE Field Basic, RS-232 and RS-422/485 connectivity.

The GT25 is available in both 7” WVGA and 10” WXGA. It has a second Ethernet port for increased flexibility, supporting wireless LAN connectivity. Compared to previous models, WVGA screen resolution is five times higher. Significantly, this  improves readability and accessing of detailed information when using the zooming multi-touch function.

The second Ethernet port on the GT25 model enables users to separate the information system from the control system network. Because they have different IP addresses, it promotes increased security and safety and increases network flexibility.

The sound output interface for the GT25 has a built-in speaker and amplifier. This enables the HMI to emit audible alarms, but also to play spoken alert messages or operator instructions. The combined audio and visual operator information is an aid in boosting productivity.

Remote monitoring and more standards

The new GOT2000 widescreen operator interface offer remote monitoring with the VNC server function. Remote connection to the GOT from a personal computer or tablet has further benefits. This includes tracking and operating production equipment and connecting to system devices.

A further interesting function on both new GOT models include GOT Drive. This function enables start-up, adjustment and maintenance of servo systems directly through the GOT. Both models feature a narrow bezel to improve the operator panels’ appearance.
