Magelis GTU | the fully configurable HMI

 

The fully configurable Magelis GTU from Schneider Electric, allows users and OEMS to configure a high performance HMI to their exact requirements.  The interchangeable display screen and control box are selected from a range of options and just snapped together.

 

The high-resolution screens deliver a crystal-clear view, allowing operators to access more information through Microsoft Windows-based tools, including Office viewer, Adobe viewer, Internet Explorer, multimedia player, etc.

 

If the user later needs to upgrade the screen, they can change the display size and type and replace it without any special tools. The application will be resized automatically. The GTU also helps keep the number of in inventory items to the minimum.

 

Operating the Magelis GTU is as easy to use as a tablet or phone through its intuitive menus, and unique industrial-grade multi-touch functionality.With modular GTU, maintaining an HMI application is also easy using the Vijeo XD software, with easy view of trends and alarms. It also supports the current Vijeo Designer software.

 

Upgrading to new software is also simple by converting and migrating the application from one software to the other. Users of Magelis XBTGT/GTW HMIs can also upgrade easily, as it uses the same type of cut-out and software.

 

Automation architecture for machines and factories

For machines control, Magelis GTU is fully integrated with SoMachine control solution for OEMs. It is also designed for PlantStruxure the collaborative Ethernet-based automation architecture from Schneider Electric.  With Modicon M580, it allows HMI applications to visualise PLC and drives Web server, share alarms without additional development, and launch SCADA client applications.

 

Wireless LAN display

The Magelis GTU wireless LAN (W-LAN) supports wireless connectivity, through the antenna built into a single housing. Using the Vijeo Design’Air apps, users can connect to the Magelis GTU W-LAN display for machine commissioning as well as real-time monitoring and diagnostics from up to 30 m away.
