RX inverter from Omron UK combines high performance with easy machine integration
Design and integration costs are often higher than the costs of the equipment hardware, so when developing the RX inverter drive, Omron UK integrated several functions for users to easily and quickly customise the inverter to the application.
By combining ease of use with a series of standard on-board application-specific functions makes RX suitable for a wide range of high performance inverter applications up to 132 kW for a full range of applications including conveyors, mixers, hoists, pumps and more.
Sensor-less vector control at 0 Hz
RX offers superior motor performance by operating in either open or closed loop mode. With the benefit of patented 0 Hz domain open-loop control mode, the RX can develop 150% torque at 0 Hz allowing zero speed load holding. An improved sensor-less vector control algorithm also enables the RX to develop more than 200% starting torque at 0.3 Hz.
The RX series is pre-programmed with specific application functionality. Brake control, positioning and electronic line shaft synchronisation are included as standard to enable users to develop the solution in the shortest time. Simple positioning is handled by the inverter itself without the need for an external motion controller.
Automatic energy saving function
When inverter drives are used to control flow applications such as fans and pumps, which can generally accept a reduction in motor speeds, significant energy savings can be achieved. In addition to these savings the RX will always adopt the optimum energy saving setting for the application, thereby potentially providing additional cost savings.
For basic networking applications, a Modbus RS485 interface is built into the RX drive. This makes it easy to integrate into a system, with PLC, HMI, temperature controllers etc. The user then has access to all aspects of the device, and can change programming at the touch of a button. In addition to Componet, a wide range of communications modules such as Profibus DeviceNet and EtherCAT can also be accommodated.
Free to program
Drive programming enables you to make your own programs to suit your machine, e.g. for an unwinding application. Up to 1000 lines of code and 5 tasks running in parallel in two programming modes: intuitive Flow Chart programming; txt Editor programming, including code completion and user defined aliases.
RX has been designed with high quality components to guarantee a long operation life and minimise downtime. It includes a versatile maintenance function that warns the user in the event of DC bus capacitor temperature rise or cooling speed reduction.
